Feature Overview
-
Measure heat in servers -- provides a real-time 3D thermal map of heat inside servers
Single-slot thickness PCIe cards available in different lengths and heights. Cards can be (i) used to measure one or more space volumes inside a server, (ii) placed next to GPU
boards, and (ii) used to provide additional CPU temperature measurements
Temperature sensors on both sides of the card allow measurement of a large volume of internal server space and increase the number of internal components and peripherals within "sensor reach" of the card. Cards may be placed back to back, or every other slot, to further increase the volume of internal server space being measured / profiled
Includes software. Two software versions are available: Thermal Profiler, which performs measurement and profiling only, and Thermal Adaptor, which auto-adjusts CPU clock rates and other internal server parameters, based on profile results

Product Description
The DTMAP™ card is intended for cloud and data centers and server farms where optimizing performance vs. heat translates to crucial margins in operating efficiency, long-term reliability (server MTBF), and profit margin. Industry standard servers and blade servers have temperature sensors located only on the motherboard or PCIe risers, resulting in a lack granularity, accuracy, and real-time response. Combined with variable conditions, this can cause systems to operate -- unknown to the operator -- in a degraded mannner, leading to downtime, reduced MTBF, and less profit margin. Problems addressed by DTMAP cards include:- Servers running hot or even slightly hot, reducing MTBF and long-term reliablity
- Virtualized systems with unpredictable conditions due to a variety of user behavior
- Servers suffering unnoticed but damaging conditions, such as sudden but brief temperature surges, inefficient fan spin patterns, and "hot black holes" -- areas of high temperature unmeasured by motherboard and riser sensors
- Systems with GPU boards not set at safe margins to protect against the common GPU failure pattern of solder joint fracturing and cracking under the GPU chips
Applications
DTMAP™ hardware and software target the following applications:- Large cloud and data centers and server farms
- Privately run server farms and smaller clusters
- Systems of any size with GPU boards
Related Applications
Signalogic also develops and manufactures HPC systems (High Performance Computing servers). Over the course of many years of building and perfecting HPC systems -- and solving tough problems with heat in those systems -- the company has developed and patented the DTMAP technology (US Patent US8996192 B2). Signalogic HPC applications include:- Computer vision (robotics, smart vehicles)
- Video Content Delivery and ffmpeg acceleration
- Suspect Tracking and Detection in Surveillance Video
