Overview
The AIX20 has four channels of 20 MHz SAR A/D input, ideal for high-speed data
acquisition and transient capture. The AIX20 uses a revolutionary new hybrid sigma-delta A/D converter from Analog Devices that delivers high performance 12-bit precision at an affordable price.
Also, each A/D channel has an anti-alias filter and gain/offset error adjustments for
accurate measurements.
Each A/D channel has an 8K sample FIFO to allow efficient data collection and transport
to the DSP host card. This allows the DSP to collect the data from the A/D as single
points, or as a data set of up to 8K samples in size thus reducing the interrupt rate to
the host DSP. Full speed, continuous data acquisition is supported to the DSP.
The AIX20 module plugs into the
M62/67
PCI and cPCI base boards, with Texas Instruments C6701 166 MHz 32-bit floating-point DSP processor.
AIX20 Feature Summary
Four (4) 12-bit, 20MHz A/D converters with 8K sample FIFOs; AIX module provides 4-channel 12-bit input at rates up to 20 MHz
DSP sees the FIFOs as memory-mopped and can control and access half-full, full, and not emply flags
A/Ds are paired on bus as 32-bit numbers-each 16-bit half is one A/D
Compatible with
M62/67 PCI and cPCI boards
Supported by
DirectDSP, and Hypersignal software
