S16-HS Omnibus Module: 16-Channel High-Speed Sigma-Delta Analog Input

Overview

The S16-HS module is intended for multichannel data acquisition and acoustic / audio analysis systems where standard audio sampling rates of 8 to 100 kHz are not enough. It provides 16 channels each of 16-bit, sigma-delta A/D up to 195 kHz sampling rate. Each channel is a true sigma-delta A/D channel which eliminates the need for multiplexing, thus reducing data acquisition complexity and reducing errors from channel switching. Inputs may be line-level or +/- 10v, allowing the SD16-HS to be used in sensor data conversion or measurement for industrial applications.

The S16-HS module control logic conveniently maps the multichannel A/D interface as a parallel, memory mapped register set easily accessed by the DSP.

The S16-HS module plugs into the M62/67 PCI and cPCI base boards, with Texas Instruments C6701 166 MHz 32-bit floating-point DSP processor.
